Diabetic Neuropathy Therapy
Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes and is caused by genetics, obesity, lack of physical activity, tobacco use and an unhealthy diet. Diabetes can lead to many complications, including nerve damage (Diabetic Neuropathy), heart disease, kidney damage, retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, severe skin conditions and Alzheimer’s Disease.
We commonly see patients with Diabetic Neuropathy. Diabetic Neuropathy is a form of nerve damage that can develop in people with diabetes. If you are diabetic, you must be wary of the health of your lower extremities as high blood sugar can injure nerve fibers throughout the body, most notably affects the feet and legs. The symptoms of diabetic neuropathy are mild for some, but for others the effects can be painful, disabling, or even fatal.
