The partnership represents the first major sports sponsorship for MOTION in the U.S. and includes providing personalized physical therapy for RUNY players throughout their first three MLR seasons.

“I am ecstatic to take on the role of head physical therapist for RUNY and develop a support team of therapists to assist with coverage,” said MOTION Director of Sports Medicine Services Ethan Burger. “RUNY embodies New York and unity, and we will put forth our best efforts to keep the lads in one piece!”
MOTION therapists will provide onsite services to the RUNY players at all games and practices as well as at their flagship MOTION Sports Medicine facility in midtown Manhattan.

Have you ever stopped to consider how many tasks you use your hands for each day? They play a role in seemingly everything a person can complete, which is why their health should always be a top priority. When an issue or injury takes place in them, you shouldn’t seek out just any form of care. At MOTION, our team specializes in treatment methods explicitly designed for the hands. To learn more about hand therapy in Manhattan, and when you should consider it, please continue reading.
What Is Hand Therapy?
Unlike other, more traditional forms of treatment such as occupational therapy and physical therapy, hand therapy focuses solely on the area from the upper shoulder to the hand. Due to the hand being such a complex structure, it’s essential to seek care that focuses on its intricacies. Hand therapy in Manhattan does just that. Through various therapeutic interventions, our team will get your hand back to full strength, so your quality of life can be restored.
Treatment Methods
When it comes to treating injuries with hand therapy in Manhattan, many things can go into this. Our hand therapists will assess the ailment you are currently dealing with before determining how to move forward. Rest assured, our team will only implement methods of care that they believe will offer the best results. Examples of what can go into your sessions include:
Therapeutic activities: Depending on the injury or ailment your facing, you may find that your strength or range of motion has been impaired. Our hand therapists will teach you to perform therapeutic exercises that will correct them and have your functionality returned.
Bracing/Immobilization: When you’ve suffered a sprain or hyperextension, the area may need to be immobilized to heal fully. Our therapists can give you the braces to do this, and inform you of how long they need to be worn.
Electronic Stimulation: Stiffness and swelling in the affected area can cause copious amounts of pain and lead to healing issues. Through the use of electronic stimulation, stiffness and swelling can subside, allowing healing to take place.
Manual Mobilizations: Another method our team may use for treatment is manual mobilizations. By applying pressure and moving certain areas of the hand, circulation can be improved, allowing for the desired healing results.
