Kevin Kay, PT, DPT, SCS, OCS, CSCS is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist, a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and a Multi-Site Manager for Motion Sports Medicine’s Manhattan and Brooklyn locations. He graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Biology in 2003. He continued his education at NYU and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006. In 2009 Kevin was awarded certification as a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist from The American Physical Therapy Association and in 2012 he added his verification as a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Kevin is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He specializes in treating hip labral tear/impingement related conditions and works extensively with hip surgeons rehabilitating patients with arthroscopic repairs. He also serves as a Master Clinician and guest lecturer at NYU’s physical therapy program. Recreationally, Kevin enjoys playing volleyball, basketball and cycling.
Irene Lee, PT, DPT, is a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist, HSS Rehabilitation Credentialed Advanced Hip Specialist, Certified Kinesio Taping practitioner, Certified in Myofascial Decompression (“cupping”), and MOTION PT Group’s Director of Clinical Education and Mentorship. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York University. Irene gained a wide variety of experience in sports/orthopedics, acute care and acute neuro rehab from several esteemed hospital and private clinic settings in NYC and in NJ. Her love and involvement in sports, such as soccer, rugby, yoga, tennis and swimming, is continued by being one of the medical providers for Rugby United New York (a professional rugby league in NYC), as well as volunteering as Medical staff for events such as the New York City Marathon, American Volleyball Professions tournament, NYC Cup soccer tournament, and Play Rugby USA tournaments. Irene has been invited numerous times to join the Sports Medicine staff at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO to assist Team USA athletes prepare for the summer and winter Olympics. Outside of Motion Midtown East, Irene enjoys yoga/aerial yoga, cooking and baking, watching movies and being outdoors.
Ethan Burger, PT, DPT, SCS, ATC, and MOTION’s Director of Sports Medicine Services is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist and a Board Certified Athletic Trainer. He double majored at the College of Charleston in the beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina, attaining a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training, as well as Exercise Science. After becoming a Board Certified Athletic Trainer, he continued his education at Touro College in Manhattan, where he graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences. Ethan completed his final clinical rotation at Motion Midtown East, at that time under the name of STAR, and then joined the physical therapist team. An avid athlete his whole life, he continues to participate in a variety of sports outside of work including softball, flag football, Spartan Races, weight lifting, CrossFit and fitness. Since 2015 Ethan has dedicated himself as the primary on-field medical provider for the New York Athletic Club Rugby team as well as recently landed the Head Physical Therapist role for the 2018-2019 Major League Rugby season with the pro team Rugby United New York. He has been undertaking multiple responsibilities such as on-field care, injury management and education, as well as regular calls with team physicians, coaches, head medical staff for the league, and organizing and scheduling games/practices for himself and the other 5 members of the medical staff for the RUNY team. Ethan regularly does out of office hours at Hospital for Special Surgery, and Surgical and Journal Clubs at Lenox Hill Hospital. Ethan is a yearly guest lecturer at Touro College on Post-Operative Physical Therapy Rehabilitation protocols and hopes to soon publish a journal article on post-operative rehabilitation of ACL Repair patients, compared with ACL Reconstruction patients.
Brittany Popkin, PT, DPT, SCS, graduated with her Bachelors of Science from Stony Brook University in May 2009 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in NYC in May 2012. Since then she has developed a love for treating hip issues and sports related injuries. In 2016, Brittany obtained her Sports Clinical Specialist certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) to further develop her skills and knowledge in the athletic population. Brittany is recognized as one of the hip clinicians at MOTION Sports Medicine – Midtown East and has attained the HSS Rehabilitation Credentialed Advanced Hip Clinician certification. Currently she is one of the physical therapists that covers the professional rugby team, Rugby United New York (RUNY), at practices, major league rugby (MLR) games and provides treatments to the players on and off the field. Brittany also provides volunteer hours and medical coverage at other soccer, rugby, tennis and NYRR events throughout the year. Brittany is a retired Irish step dancer and competed regionally, nationally and internationally during her 13 year career. Over the course of her dancing career, Brittany became injured a few times in her hips, knees and ankles and it was her physical therapist that always helped piece her back together. This is where Brittany knew she wanted to become a physical therapist and help other injured athletes get back to their sport. Since retiring from Irish step dancing, Brittany now stays active with running half marathons and being at the gym. Brittany loves to go to New York Rangers and New York Yankees games, explore NYC and travel to new cities.
Michael Erickson, PT, DPT, received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology from Pennsylvania State University after which he returned home to his native NYC to complete his doctorate in physical therapy at the City University of New York Graduate Center. Michael is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and works closely with both post operative and non operative orthopedic and sports medicine cases. During clinical affiliations, Michael gained experience in a large variety of settings including acute hospital care, vestibular rehabilitation, orthopedics and sports medicine, including an affiliation with STAR. While in graduate school, Michael was involved in research regarding the inclusion of Traditional Chinese Medicine in physical therapy programs across the United States. During his time at Penn State, Michael was a successful athlete as a co-captain of the rugby team receiving accolades as an All American Honorable Mention twice during his playing career.
Morgyne Martinez, PT, DPT, is licensed to practice in the state of New York and has been practicing for two years. She has experience in the treatment of sports medicine, outpatient orthopedic cases, and neurological conditions at outpatient facilities. Morgyne has taken and is familiar with taping techniques, running rehabilitation programs, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, Parkinson’s rehabilitation and balance and gait training. Morgyne’s passion to pursue her career as a physical therapist was influenced by her time around therapists that rehabilitated her younger brother who suffered a stroke at a young age, as well as, her own rehabilitation experience and participation in various sports. In her spare time, Morgyne enjoys participating in workout classes, running, hiking, attending sporting events and spending time with friends and family.
Kevin Murtagh, PT, DPT, is licensed to practice in the state of New York and has been practicing for 3 years. He has experience in working with orthopedic, sports medicine, pre/post-operative care and geriatrics in a outpatient setting. Kevin works alongside a team of physical therapists for the Rugby United New York professional rugby team in sideline and in-clinic treatment of players. In his spare time, Kevin keeps physically active with long-distance running and weightlifting.
Harrison Newman, PT, DPT, graduated from Colgate University with a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology and Political Science and from Rutgers SHRP with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Harrison, competed for Colgate University as a Division I Track and Field athlete and scored points in the Patriot League Championships in the High Jump and Triple Jump in all 4 years he attended. Harrison, returned to the field of sports and physical therapy after careers in geophysics, stock picture photography, and management of performance go kart racing. Harrison, has a passion for speed as exemplified by his athletic performance and motorsport racing he has competed in. Harrison, brings his knowledge of running and track and field to the orthopedic setting. Harrison’s clinical experience have taken him throughout America including treating orthopedic patients in NY and NJ, pediatric oncology patients at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and traveling to New Mexico to treat Native Americans on the Zuni reservation as part of the Indian Health Service initiative.

Joshua Weber, PT, DPT, earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology from Touro College where he continued in Touro College to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Joshua’s clinical experience includes a wide variety of physical therapy settings such as Mount Sinai Hospital acute care cardiothoracic ICU as well as South Nassau Community Hospital acute orthopedic and neurology floors for patients following joint replacement surgeries andstrokes or spinal cord injuries. Joshua has also spent time at various outpatient orthopedic physical therapy facilities throughout Queens and Long Island before joining the Motion team. On his free time, Joshua enjoys skiing, hiking, travelling, and exploring NYC with friends and family.
Anthony Sacramento, PT, DPT, is licensed to practice in the state of New York and has been practicing for four years. Anthony is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, FMS Certified, Myofascial Decompression Certified, a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner, SFMA Certified, SMART Tools Certified, and a Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Anthony has over 20 years experience as a competitive gymnast. During his undergraduate years, he competed on the varsity men’s gymnastics team and is a 3x All-American Division I athlete with 4 consecutive Big 10 team titles and an NCAA team title. He is a current practitioner of Taekwondo and Hapkido. Anthony is interested in the role physical therapy can play not just in rehabilitation, but also in preventative care and to enhance the skills and lives of any persons or athletes.
Martin Hogan PT, MPT, is licensed to practice in the State of New York and has been practicing for 27 years. He has experience in the treatment of orthopedics, geriatrics, vestibular disorders, sports medicine, pre-operative and post-operative cases in outpatient facilities. Martin is a Certified Kinesiotape Practitioner, Myofascial Decompression Certified, (cupping) using techniques such as manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, motor control relearning and McKenzie, Mulligan and Maitland mobilizations and has extensive experience treating Vestibular disorders. Martin was a high school and college athlete participating in football, track and rugby. He enjoys hiking and cycling. His love of sports and movement lead him to a career where he can pursue his passion daily.
Alexandra Kahn, PT, DPT, CSCS, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She went on to obtain her degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy from New York Medical College. While she was there, Ally became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and taught both group classes and worked with individual clients on achieving their fitness goals. Ally completed her clinical affiliations at a variety of settings including an outpatient orthopedic clinic, a sports medicine clinic, inpatient rehabilitation at NYU Rusk Rehab, and pediatric physical therapy at the Board of Education in NYC. Since graduating from graduate school, Ally has become certified in Myofascial Decompression, will become a Certified Kinesiotape Practitioner this June, and plans to obtain her OCS in the upcoming future.
Brian W. Chech, PT, DPT, CSCS, CKTP, earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition from The University of Scranton. Brian then went on to study at Touro College to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Brian’s clinical experience includes a variety of physical therapy settings such as New York Presbyterian Columbia, Symbio physiotherapy, a private outpatient orthopedic specialty clinic, and MOTION sports medicine, formerly known as STAR, treating an array of orthopedic cases. When Brian isn’t working, he enjoys running, weightlifting, hiking, and exploring NYC with friends and family.
Megan Mahoney, PT, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist in the state of New York and has been a part of Motion PT group for 1 year. She has experience in the treatment of sports medicine and outpatient orthopedic conditions. Megan became a PT because of her desire to help people live their lives as fully and as pain free as possible. As an athlete her whole life, Megan has a particular interest in injury prevention and educating athletes on how to stay healthy and at the top of their game. During her free time, Megan likes to stay as active as possible through playing soccer, going for runs, and enjoying time outdoors.
Victoria Sekely, PT, DPT, CSCS, CKTP, earned her B.S. in Human Sciences from Georgetown University, and continued her education at New York University where she obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Victoria finds passion in running and takes interest in running-specific injuries, with tools to address and assess a runner’s form. Victoria has trained for and competed in several half marathons and triathlons, and in her spare time enjoys long runs along the Hudson River or Central Park. During her undergraduate years, Victoria also competed on the varsity women’s tennis team at Georgetown and was named captain her senior year. Though her tennis days are behind her, Victoria utilizes her expertise in both tennis and running to guide and assist several of her patients on their return to sport.

Emma Petkofsky, MS, OTR/L, is a graduate of New York University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Originally from Virginia, she attended the University of Virginia and received a B.S.Ed in Kinesiology with a concentration in sports medicine. She became interested in rehabilitation after working in recreational therapy programs including therapeutic horseback riding, adaptive swimming and tennis programs. After volunteering in a hand therapy clinic as an undergraduate student she developed a strong interest in upper extremity rehabilitation and was able to further explore this interest with a clinical affiliation at Motion Midtown East. After graduating she gained experience with inpatient rehabilitation at Kings County Hospital before returning to Midtown East. When she is not in the clinic she loves to explore NYC through two of her favorite pastimes, running and eating.
Costantinos Stamboulis, MS, OTR/L, CLT-UE, CKTP, is a graduate of New York Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. During clinical affiliations, Gus was able to explore various settings which included acute hospital care at North Shore – LIJ, orthopedics, mental health settings, sub-acute rehab and sports medicine, including a clinical affiliation with MOTION-Midtown East. During his time at MOTION, Gus developed a passion for upper extremity rehabilitation and treatment. Gus has certifications in Upper Extremity Lymphedema Therapy and Kinesio Taping. In his leisure time, Gus enjoys traveling, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family.
