Melissa McVicker T, DPT, CPT
Physical TherapistMelissa McVicker, PT, DPT, CPT, received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Hunter College in New York City. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Manhattan College in the Bronx, where she majored in Exercise Science. Melissa worked at the Manhattan College gym and became an ACSM certified personal trainer. The satisfaction of helping others literally transform their lives through physical fitness and healthy living is what motivated her to achieve her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
Melissa has worked in a number of medical institutions affiliated with Hunter and treated patients suffering from neurologic impairments such as TBI, stroke, MS and PD. She has completed an IPA course in functional mobilization (FM1) and learned various manual techniques to treat soft tissue impairments. Her clinical interests include sports and workplace injury, post-op recovery and joint replacements. In her free time, Melissa enjoys staying active through various fitness classes and biking outdoors, listening to music and exploring different activities and events around town.
