Physical Therapist

Ashley Hernandez, PT, DPT, is a native New Yorker that discovered her calling to become a physical therapist during her time as a collegiate Track and Field athlete at CUNY’s Herbert H. Lehman College. Additionally, she pursued a commitment to Fordham University’s Army ROTC program, where she was commissioned as an Army National Guard Officer in 2013. Since then, Ashley has completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.

Ashley returned to her home city as a full-time physical therapist, while continuing to serve part-time in the NY Army National Guard. She is passionate about physical therapy, and enjoy working with patients of all ages with various injuries/conditions. Ashley has a special interest for sport, neurological, orthopedic, and pediatric rehabilitation. Her treatment style focuses on regaining functional strength and movement through a customized approach developed specifically for every patient, which utilizes a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and activity, and neuromuscular re-education. As a PT, Ashley seeks to provide her patients with the appropriate tools and education to be as independent and functional as possible.

During her free time, Ashley enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, traveling overseas, hiking, dancing, running, and strength-training. She loves exploring nature, reading and learning about new subjects and hobbies, as well as attending music concerts.
