Ethan Burger, PT, DPT, SCS, ATC, MOTION’s Director of Sports Medicine Services is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist and a Board Certified Athletic Trainer. He double-majored at the College of Charleston in the beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina, attaining a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training, as well as Exercise Science. After becoming a Board Certified Athletic Trainer, he continued his education at Touro College in Manhattan, where he graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences. Ethan completed his final clinical rotation at MOTION Midtown East. An avid athlete his whole life, he continues to participate in a variety of sports outside of work including softball, flag football, Spartan Races, weight lifting, CrossFit, and fitness.

Since 2015 Ethan has dedicated himself as the primary on-field medical provider for the New York Athletic Club Rugby team as well as recently landed the Head Physical Therapist role for the 2018-2019 Major League Rugby season with the pro team Rugby United New York. He has been undertaking multiple responsibilities such as on-field care, injury management, and education, as well as regular calls with team physicians, coaches, head medical staff for the league, and organizing and scheduling games/practices for himself and the other five members of the medical staff for the RUNY team. Ethan regularly does out of office hours at Hospital for Special Surgery, and Surgical and Journal Clubs at Lenox Hill Hospital. Ethan is a yearly guest lecturer at Touro College on Post-Operative Physical Therapy Rehabilitation protocols and hopes to soon publish a journal article on post-operative rehabilitation of ACL Repair patients, compared with ACL Reconstruction patients.
