Physical TherapistRisa Halpern received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Downstate Medical Center, followed by her Doctorate from Touro College, and has been practicing physical therapy in New York for over 30 years. Risa began her professional career at Mount Sinai Hospital, gaining valuable experience focusing on orthopedics & volunteering in the sports medicine clinic. She then worked as both Director & clinician in a multi-location private practice in lower Manhattan, affiliated with the Hospital for Special Surgery. This affiliation allowed Risa to learn about the latest in operative & non-operative treatments, observe surgery several times a year and most importantly, forge relationships with respected & cutting-edge orthopedists in New York City. For the last decade, Risa has been practicing on Long Island with a continued focus on orthopedics, sports medicine, and geriatrics. She incorporates the latest evidence-based treatment methods and techniques to assist her patients in achieving their highest level of function following surgery or injury.
