
Ethan Burger PT, DPT, SCS, ATC
MOTION Director of Sports MedicineEthan Burger, PT, DPT, SCS, ATC, is MOTION’s Director of Sports Medicine Services, a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist, and a Board-Certified Athletic Trainer. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, followed by his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Touro College in Manhattan. He completed his final clinical rotation at MOTION Midtown East.
A lifelong athlete, Ethan remains active in softball, Spartan Races, weightlifting, CrossFit, and general fitness. Since 2015, he has served as the primary on-field medical provider for the New York Athletic Club Rugby team. In 2018, he assumed the role of Head Physical Therapist for New York’s first professional rugby team, a position he held until the team’s closure in 2022.
Ethan frequently collaborates with leading physicians and surgeons, spending out-of-office hours at the Hospital for Special Surgery, participating in surgical and journal clubs at Lenox Hill Hospital, and cultivating strong relationships within the medical community. His clinical expertise is particularly focused on post-operative rehabilitation, and he returns annually to his alma mater to lecture on post-operative protocols.
Currently, Ethan is contributing to a research study comparing rehabilitation outcomes of ACL repair versus ACL reconstruction patients. He is also a certified ACL BEAR (Bridge-Enhanced ACL Restoration) Rehabilitation Specialist, recognized through Find a Physical Therapist | Miach Orthopaedics.
